Tara Lipinski is an American figure skater. At the age of 15, she won the Olympic gold medal in figure skating at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. Tara remains the youngest individual gold medalist in the history of the Olympic Winter Games. In 1997, Lipinski won both the U.S. and World Championships, and, at the age of 14, became the youngest person ever to win either title. At the 1996 U.S. Postal Challenge, Lipinski became the first female skater to land a triple loop/triple loop jump combination, which became her signature element. Tara came in to Antiquarian Traders with her mother to buy an antique French bed set which she wanted expanded to king size. They couldn’t believe that we were able to do that kind of work so expertly that the modification would be completely unnoticeable. She stops in occasionally and has a very sweet personality to go with her immense talent on the ice rink. Fame has not spoiled her.
