| Description: |
Rare and beautiful 9'H x 7'W large Italian giltwood mirror with gold leafing and cherub motif. This is one of the largest and most spectacular mirrors we've seen in over 30 years of buisiness. The mirror was purchased by the Borgese family in the late 19th C. in Florence Italy. The cost at that time was $15,000 and it was an antique then. It was used in a beauty shop in Minneapolis until the 1960's where it was then bought by a serious art collector and incorporated into his collection. In the late 1990's the mirror was moved to a museum storage area and finally sold to us. The piece is in extraordinary condition and appears to be almost flawless. This could easily be worth $250,000 but we purchased it for an amount that allows us to sell it for $150,000. |
