Fabulous Bronze Art Deco "Walking Panther" on marble base and signed R. Bugatti. This is a recast of an original Rembrandt Bugatti (1884-1916) panther. He is well known for his interesting interpretation animals. In his most famous of his works, sculpted in 1904, Bugatti depicts the panther in such a way to capture the panther's coiled tension. Although it walks casually it is ready to spring into action at any moment. Every sinious curve of the big cat is accurately shown. This is a limited edition of 100. |
