Monumental antique Victorian standard grade three-hinge Wooton desk with a spectacular high-style Victorian gallery circa 1875. This Renaissance Revival style Standard Grade Wooton Patent Secretary is crafted in walnut with burled walnut veneers and bird's eye maple.
Designed and manufactured by the Wooton Desk Manufacturing Company, this three-hinge desk is a real beauty. Surmounted by a crest rail with urns and swags of drapery, featuring incising, ebonizing, gilding and burl panels. Writing board with incised bird's eye maple and a black leather gold-tooled writing surface. Pigeon holes in doors complete with boxes. This desk has bronze mounted hardware including hinges, handles, mail slot and patent plaque. (Lamp Not Included) The last image shows the California State Capitol Pro Tem Senate Office furnished by Antiquarian Traders. A very nice Wooton desk graces the corner of the room. |
