Description: Breathtaking 8'6" tall monumental bronze statue, titled "Gloria Victis", the winged figure of Victory, who supports the fallen warrior still carrying his broken sword. The original plaster model was exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1874, winning the Medaille d' Honneur, and later cast in bronze by Barbedienne. It was cast in this large size in a very limited edition and is no longer available. Several other sizes come up for auction, but none this large.
