Here is a rare chane to own a fabulous pair of French inlaid Art Nouveau lady's writing-desks by Emile Gallé. The upper section with a mirrored back, stationery holder and a pair of short stacked drawers, the whole surmounted by a pierced foliate crest, the lower section with a rectangular writing surface decorated with poppies, orchids and lilies, above a frieze drawer, raised on tapering fluted square legs joined by stretchers and ending in square feet.
The pair may be split for $14,000 per desk. |
